I believe purpose is what separates good design from bad design.

Having purpose in your design ensures you have a goal - an objective goal to measure your design against.

That objectivity in your design process is super important to guide you through the thick fog
that surrounds you when you're deep in the design process, navigating the ambiguity of client demands, unseen technical obstacles and juggling everything else that comes your way.
